Gone Fishing
Dear Everyone,
It’s crunch time. I’m working on a book and won’t be able to do blogs for a few weeks. I’ll be back as soon as I can. Lots of love, Danielle

I have always been a fan of yours- while still in high school my work was compared to yours- although I tended to disagree that my work could be that good.
I have a great story idea that I believe would transalate well on screen and have started to write it. Could you please be as kind to refer me to a publisher who would be willing to take a look at some of my work? To see if I even have what it takes ? Writing, among animals is 1 of my greatest passions. I don’t have any formal training and I don’t know the first thing about getting a book published. I am struggling now as are all Americans and if I can make a living from doing what I’ve dreamed of doing that would be wonderful !
I’ve often been transported away to glamourous worlds within your books and to places I’ve only dreamed of. Often I’ve wondered what would it be like to not have to struggle so hard to pay a bill- to focus on living and not survival.
You as well as Oprah are 2 people that I greatly admire ! I know that your’re busy writing another book- but hopefully you will have time to respond or be a “mentor” of sorts in my life. I would like to do well enough in life that I could donate money to start a foundation to help grieving mothers who have lost their babies pay for the burial/cremation of their baby. I lost my son Aden and could not afford to bury him- that was a humiliating and painful thing to go through. It made me realize that if it happened to me surely it has happened to others as well. We all should be able to pay our respects to our loved ones regardless of economics.
Thank you for your beautiful books ! Please keep them coming !

Bon courage à vous , et revenez vite !
J attend avec impatience de vous lire .
A bientot!
Best to you, Ms. Steel, good luck and, oh by the way, re: your flying post. Got on that plane last week and I’m into my second lag of the trip… pilot comes on and announces, “Ladies and gentleman we have a problem (long pause) then; “we’ll be in a holding pattern over Laguardia for oh, say… 48 min while they attempt to scrape ice off the runway and open back up the airport. Goood news folks? Looks like we have plenty of fuel. Just sit back and relax.” Ugh. ; )
write write write! Soon I will be doing the same thing — *smiling*
enjoy!
I love your books but had a question about the ending of Lightning. I have been married 24 years and do not think I would go back to my husband after all that Sam had done. Why did you bring them back together? Have you seen couples that survived this way? I know I am late in reading this one but loved it. The ending however has haunted me for 2 days now. It has given me some thought provoking moments.
