3/18/19, Dazed but not confused

Hi Everyone,

I hope that all is well with you. Yesterday was St. Patrick’s Day, which I can lay no claim to, having no Irish relatives at all.  But if it’s your holiday, Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

The riots in Paris are continuing and getting worse again, with stores destroyed, vandalized and looted—innocent stores like women and children’s clothing stores and the Disney store on the Champs Elysees. The city continues to live in fear on Saturdays, and the destruction continues. Violence is never the answer to anything and is disheartening to see.

I have done nothing but write for the last 10 days, and I’m happy with what I’m working on. I was working very closely on two books, and have really had fun with them. I hope you’ll love them too once they’re out.

My new book, Silent Night, is out and doing well, about Brain Injury. I hope you’ll read it and love it too, there’s some very good research in that book.

And when I work this hard writing, I work straight through most nights until 5 and 6 am, then I don’t do much else and am just on a constant cycle of writing, a few hours’ sleep, and then more writing—-so I’m not very interesting when I come up for air, and am a little dazed.

I saw my God children last night, which is always fun for me. And I hope to see some friends for lunch and dinner this week—-and to catch up on some fun things to tell you. In the meantime, take care, stay safe, work hard and have some fun!!!

much love, Danielle

    Hello
I am hoping this will get Danielle Steel herself.
My mom was a huge fan of yours. She read all of your books. My mom loved The Journey the best. At the very beginning of the book there is something written about a journey of a life with lots of pain and then leads to a love one could only dream of. I have not myself read this book but my mother always told me she wanted that read at her funeral. My mom passed on March 12. I was searching for this excerpt from your book and couldn’t get the book fast enough. I went to her house after searching the library. In a drawer in her house was a notebook and in that notebook was the very thing she always telling me about. She left it for me to read it which I did at her funeral this past Saturday. You wrote it for your book but it was as if you wrote it about my moms life – I had to write you I don’t know if you will actually see this but I hope you do. Thanks for your words that meant so much to my mother. ( my journey has been long. I do not regret it, at times it has been dark)
    With gratitude

Ms. Steel I have been a fan of yours for some time now. I was wondering if you have ever thought to write a book about firefighters. It seems there is a rise in cancer amongst them now, then before.
These brave men and women are truly everyday heroes and live to serve.
My son just passed from a rare cancer at 30. One year after he was diagnosed.

    Danielle,
“And when I work this hard writing, I work straight through most nights until 5 and 6 am, then I don’t do much else and am just on a constant cycle of writing, a few hours’ sleep, and then more writing—-so I’m not very interesting when I come up for air, and am a little dazed” Danielle Steel.
This remind me of this quote of Susan Orlean” My inspiration is really very simple: I am struck by things that I want to know more about. I really do react just as a curious person: who is this person? What is the story behind this situation? Why do people like this or dislike this thing?

    Congratulations!
    Good Job!
