11/16/20, Popcorn Time!!!
Hi Everyone,
I hope you had a good week, restrictions seem to be tightening around the world, to try and get the numbers down and get a handle on Covid before the holidays. Moderate measures and varying degrees of confinement seem to be in place in many cities and countries, to get a grip on it, lower the numbers, but not impact the economy too badly. It’s a delicate balance.
And I have just had a REALLY fun few days binge-watching various series, and even took a class, to help pass the time and stay at home. Books are always a wonderful way to spend confinement, getting lost in the story, the ultimate form of escape. Reading books (and writing them!!) helps pass the time incredibly!
And in addition to writing (my main activity in or out of confinement at all times), and reading, I have had some real fun with series. I was lucky enough to follow a religious class for half a day, which is only given once a year. It really helped ground me, and feel peaceful, in the face of the pandemic. And after that, I indulged myself. I loved The Queen’s Gambit, on Netflix, 7 episodes. And I am LOVE LOVE LOVING Season 4 of The Crown which started on Sunday, also on Netflix. I think it’s the best season of all so far. And I know I will watch the whole thing again, after I watch it for the first time. I like watching things for a second time, I see all sorts of things I didn’t notice the first time.
AND THIS TUESDAY MY NEW BOOK ALL THAT GLITTERS COMES OUT!!! So between binge watching, I hope you enjoy my new book, for yourself and as a gift for the holidays, and my little book of quotations “Expect a Miracle”, which came out 3 weeks ago.
The distraction is good for us all!!!! Have fun watching and reading, and have a GREAT week!!!
love, Danielle

Dear Danielle,
Thank you for your blog! Good for you for enjoying Popcorn and movies! In our household, we are new to Netflix, having joined to watch “My Octopus Teacher,” and then went on to enjoy “Emily in Paris.” I hope you will consider both the octopus movie and the Emily series and share your thoughts in your blog!
The sensitivity and curiosity of the diver in “My Octopus Teacher” are most evident and appreciated. This movie is beautiful and not to be missed.
“Emily in Paris” in contrast is a flight of fancy, air brushing out any hint of urban blight, but I do feel that this very playful comedy is a welcome balm for frazzled nerves.
And congratulations on the return of your bag! Two years ago I fumbled for my keys near home, dropping my wallet on the sidewalk in the rain. I was totally unaware of having lost the wallet until I received a phone call about two hours later from a wonderful gentleman who runs a tobacco shop nearby. He had found my home phone number by searching on the internet! And what a relief that the wallet had been left on the sidewalk with just the cash gone. My new driver’s license and all my credit cards were inside! Since that experience, I am careful to keep my wallet clipped to my purse, and in addition I have put my cell phone number on many of my cards to make it easier for anyone finding my wallet in the future to know the right phone # to reach me.
Kudos to the French police and very happy for you that your purse was recovered!

Thank you, Danielle.
Your book of quotes arrived yesterday and I opened the book at 2:00 am after a snack last night.
What a pleasant surprise. I recognized a lot of the quotes and even know them by heart.
They brought me joy and comfort. I slept well the rest of the night.
“Expect a Miracle” will be a great holiday a gift for everyone. Perfect for a coffee table of even the bathroom.
I just finished sharing your book of quotes in a Wed Night Testimony Meeting we have online. Perhaps I sold some copies for you.
Also, I really enjoyed The Queen’s Gambit. Thanks for the suggestion.
You are a blessing! I am grateful for everything.
Also, I liked the twitter pictures of your desk with the paper weights. It reminded me of my grandmother’s office when I was little and use to visit her. She had some of the quotes from your book framed on her wall.
God Bless us ALL!
