Dear Everyone,

It’s crunch time. I’m working on a book and won’t be able to do blogs for a few weeks. I’ll be back as soon as I can. Lots of love, Danielle

Surviving Cupid

Posted on February 19, 2009

Getting through Valentine’s Day is not as easy as it looks. Flowers, candy, romance, how complicated can that be? Sometimes very. My own early experiences with this holiday were questionable at best. My first memory of Valentine’s Day was being the only kid in third grade who did not get a valentine from anyone. I was crushed. This was not a good omen for the years to come. » read more »

Writing

Posted on February 17, 2009

As I start another book, I’m getting off another message to those of you who read my blogs. And I notice that some of the recent responses from you ask about my writing habits.

For those of you who also write, I always say that there is no one ‘right way’ to do it (or anything in life). Some people write half a page a day and agonize over each word and sentence. Others write pages and pages, and that’s fine too. Whatever works. Don’t compare yourself to anyone else’s writing style or habits. We each do whatever works best for us. » read more »

Fear of Flying

Posted on February 9, 2009

I went to a dinner party the other night in Paris, and noticed the man on my left whispering earnestly to the woman on his left. And I need to kind of de-stress before I go to sleep. Reading religious articles that inspire me, or reading from the Bible really does it for me. It gives me back some perspective, and makes me feel that I am not carrying the whole world on my shoulders alone. And whatever one’s beliefs, there are some great reminders in the Bible, that apply to our dealings with other people, how we treat them, and expect to be treated in return. As I said, it works for me. » read more »

Triple Blessing

Posted on February 3, 2009

In the space of a week recently, I had the pleasure of visiting 3 of my daughters. A real triple blessing for me!!! I’m busy, but so are they, and it’s hard for them to get away from their jobs, lives, and commitments, so roughly once every 3 to 6 weeks, I try to visit them in their cities. I wish they would/could come home more often, and more than that I wish we lived in the same city. » read more »
